| The MARC 21 Format
for Bibliographic Data is an excellent reference for personnel involved in
the creation and maintenance of bibliographic records, as well as those
involved in the design and maintenance of systems for communication and
processing of bibliographic records. Published as a loose-leaf two-volume set (binders not included), MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data provides guidelines for content designation, and defines the codes and conventions that identify data elements in MARC bibliographic records. The main volume is a consolidation of the February 1999 base text and Updates 1 through 5 (inclusive). Please note: this publication replaces Canadian MARC Communication Format: Bibliographic Data.
